I used to admire farmers coming home at night
I was not allowed to go but I wished I might
So curious what they did out in the field
The mystery of their work was my childhood shield
They said they toiled beyond the mountain line
I stared from where the sun and clouds align
Could never picture what lay out of sight
Just rain and mist that swallowed up the light
Now I’m grown up and I can finally see
The life I dreamed is now reality
I’ll buy up farms across the States so wide
Just driving tractors fills me up with pride
When I’m out there nothing else remains
The world just fades when I ride those plains
The dirt and dust the sweat the heat
The smell of crops so strong and sweet
The rhythm of the land so true
It’s all I’ve ever wanted to do
Now I’m grown up and I can finally see
The life I dreamed is now reality
I’ll buy up farms across the States so wide
Just driving tractors fills me up with pride
When I’m out there nothing else remains
The world just fades when I ride those plains
I’ll buy up farms across the States so wide
Just driving tractors fills me up with pride
When I’m out there nothing else remains
The world just fades when I ride those plains
